Therapeutic Virtues of Neem

Neem, scientifically known as Azadirachta indica, is a tree native to India that has spread widely across Senegal and many other African countries. In local languages, it is simply called “neem,” and it is often nicknamed “the miracle tree.” A hardy tree with evergreen leaves, it easily adapts to dry areas. But beyond its ecological importance, neem is above all recognized as a pillar of traditional medicine.

Therapeutic Properties of Neem

Leaves: With antiparasitic and fever-reducing properties, they are used as a remedy against malaria. They also treat certain skin conditions (itching, infections, irritations).

Bark: Known for its antibacterial effects, it helps relieve digestive disorders.

Seeds: They produce a precious oil with therapeutic and cosmetic benefits, highly valued as a natural antiseptic.

Branches: Used as chewing sticks, they provide natural oral hygiene.
